Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water supplies, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has intensified assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.
