Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-time coach Cervara.
Now working with his coach and his other coach, he has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from that period of 2023.
Victory also means the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent reactions on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to force a final set.
Moutet saved four initial break points in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
